The Carmichael Library uses the Library of Congress classification system to catalogue books. Below is a list of guides to interpreting the call numbers and finding books on the shelf.
Reference sources - such as dictionaries, encyclopedias, handbooks, almanacs, directories, and compendia of various sorts - are useful for gathering background information, definitions, and quick facts. Carmichael Library is fortunate to subscribe to two online collections of cross-searchable reference sources:
