What is Swank Digital Campus?
Swank is a streaming video service that provides access to feature films chosen by UM faculty to support instruction. These films are accessible both on and off campus. And, they can be viewed via a computer or mobile device. A direct link to the Swank Digital Campus is provided below. And, use the menu bar on the left to view instructions for computer and mobile access.

Carmichael Library patrons have access to streaming movies through Swank. These films cannot be streamed in public, only in the classroom setting and by individual faculty and students. Due to costs, film requests are limited to faculty for use in instruction.

To view the Swank catalog, go to https://www.swank.com/digital-campus.
Step 1
On the Carmichael Library homepage, click the Databases button.
Step 2
Click on S at the top of the Database listing. Then click the Swank Films link.
Step 3
You have now accessed the Swank Digital Campus Dashboard. To find films, you can
- Use the searchbox at the top of the screen OR
- Scroll to browse the collection.
Get the App
Stream feature films chosen by UM faculty to support the curriculum on you Android or iOS device. Here's how:
- Install the app on your device.
- Follow the access instructions as listed under the Computer Access tab.
- When you click on film, it will automatically launch in the Swank app.
Linking to Swank Films
Please note if you would like to directly link to a film, the Share, Direct Link function does not work for off-campus viewing. So, to add a link to a film in Canvas, you can
1. Use the Swank Films link provided below and found in the Database listing on the library website. This will provide on campus and remote access to UMs Swank Films collection. OR
2. Modify the link that you get when you click Share, and select Direct Link so that it will work on and off campus. Refer to the example below to learn how.
Example: Here is the direct link for the film Bully

However, this link will only work on campus. So, it is recommended that you copy and modify the link as shown below. Simply replace the areas highlighted in grey with the with those highlighted in yellow. The rest of the link remains the same.
