The University of Montevallo is excited to launch its Chromebook Tablet Loan Program, which will allow eligible UM students to check out a Chromebook through the University's Carmichael Library each academic year. Eligible students will receive an email notification from the University. They can then check out a Chromebook Tablet by presenting a valid UM student ID at the circulation desk in Carmichael Library.
Through the program, Chromebooks will be checked out to eligible students until the end of finals week each spring, regardless of when in the academic year the device was initially checked out. UM students who plan to continue using the device the following academic year will be able to renew the device online each spring.
When the annual renewal period approaches, students will be sent a reminder to ether return or renew the device.
Students who graduate, withdraw or take leave from the University will be required to return the device upon their departure.
Overdue fines will be applicable, and will be capped at $10 if the device is returned. Students who do not return or renew the Chromebooks when they are due will be charged a replacement fee.
