Finding Dissertations from Other Institutions
Use a Recommended Database

ProQuest Publicly Available Content This link opens in a new windowClick "Advanced Search." Then find the "Source Type" field and select "Dissertations & Theses". Next, enter your search terms (keywords) and click "search".

EBSCO Open Dissertations This link opens in a new windowThis database provides access to over 1.5 million open access dissertation and theses. To access full-text, click the Access options button, then the "Access Now" button. Most of these dissertations are from institutional respositories.

ERIC (EBSCOhost) This link opens in a new windowProvides access to journal articles, dissertations, and more. To search for dissertations, click the "Full Text" option. Then under "document type", select "dissertations/theses - doctoral dissertations".

PsycINFO This link opens in a new windowPsycINFO contains nearly two million citations and summaries of journal articles, book chapters, books and dissertations, all in psychology (and some for education too). Use this a starting place to locate a dissertation. Then search for that title in Google Scholar for full-text access.
🎓 Google Scholar provides full-text access to millions of dissertations. Many universities include dissertations and theses in their institutional respositories, and these repositories are indexed, or made searchable, through Google Scholar.
Pro Tip: Start by searching in one of the databases listed above. If the database does not include full-text access to a dissertation you are interested in, copy and paste the title into Google Scholar to search for full-text.
Conduct a Search from the Library Homepage
- Enter your search term(s) in the yellow search box.
- From the limiters across the top of the search results screen, click "Source Type". Then, select "Dissertations/Theses."
